This podcast aims to share with the public that the rising cost of vet medicine and access to care is not only a problem that affects pet owners but also affects the veterinarians and technicians working in the field every day to save lives and help in unimaginable ways pet owners to find solutions to this problem.

Episode 1: Paws, pet + pricing with Ashley Veliz 

"According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, there are currently 16,000 practicing veterinarians in the US. However, with the increase in pet ownership, an additional 41,000 veterinarians will be needed within the next 7 years to keep up with the pet population. In this episode, we discussed one of the major issues affecting the industry, which is compassion fatigue. We spoke with Ashley Veliz, a vet technician who has personally experienced this condition."

Episode 2: Paws, pet + pricing with Dr. Michael Feldt  

"The Consumer Price Index from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that veterinary costs increased by almost 11% between July 2022 and July 2023. This rise can be attributed to various factors, such as inflation, a shortage of veterinary professionals, and an increased standard of care. In this episode, we interviewed a veterinary professional who provided suggestions on how to deal with the escalating prices."
